This is the image for the news article titled SEVENTH GRADE - GEOGRAPHY FAIR

After a 2 year Geography program starting in 6th grade, 7th grade students research and assemble a project based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and an assigned continent. Given the freedom to choose their own topic and what they're most passionate about, they apply their critical thinking and writing skills to analyze an issue/topic and it's effect on the environment and society. Topics range from pollution to gender inequality; poaching to climate change; refugees to quality education. The list goes on! Students every year do a wonderful job of showcasing what they've learned about Geography by connecting their global topic to Brooklyn, CT and the organizations working to improve upon or further these issues/endeavors. It's a wonderful way for students to engage civically and become more globally aware.
