This is the image for the news article titled 2019 QVJC CONFERENCE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONS On a gorgeous October day, 119 girls and 177 boys raced at Owen Bell Park for the QVJC Conference Cross Country Championship. These students represented teams from Ashford, Griswold, Killingly, Parish Hill, Plainfield,  Pomfret, Putnam, Rectory, Thompson, Wheeler, Woodstock and, most importantly, Brooklyn. The girls raced first and the Brooklyn girls put together their finest race of the season to place first, twenty-five points ahead of last year’s winner (and always formidable) Woodstock. The boys were inspired by the girls’ effort and were determined to win the first-ever Brooklyn Boys’ cross country championship. Lightning struck twice as the boys finished sixteen points ahead of second-place (and last year’s winner) Griswold and finish the season as the undefeated champions of the QVJC. It was a spectacular day for Brooklyn running! Every Brooklyn runner can take great pride in contributing to a wonderful season with the happiest of endings! Photo Gallery
