CROSS COUNTRY TEAM OFF TO A GREAT SEASON! GO BOBCATS!
Posted on 09/29/2019
The cross country team hosted Griswold and Killingly on Thursday at Prince Hill. As always it takes a village to host a meet and we'd like to thank the kitchen staff for slicing up the watermelon which was served to runners after completing the course and Superintendent Buell, Mr. Gabrielle, Mrs. Green, Mr. Kelleher, Mrs. King, Ms. Macewitz, Mrs. Wimmer, who has been our official scorer for many years and Mr. Bejma, simply the best race director in the Quinebaug Valley Junior Conference. A special thanks to Mr. Lazuk, retired now ten years, who continues to man his post in the woods at Prince Hill on meet days to oversee the safety of the runners and insure that no one short cuts the course. We are one third of the way through the season and the boys and girls are undefeated triumphing over Putnam and Rectory last week and Griswold and Killingly this week. The boys' victory over Griswold was particularly noteworthy as the Griswold boys have ruled the conference for a seeming eternity. This is a strong team.
