DETERMINING THE PERCENTAGE OF AIR IN DRY GRAVEL
The 7th grade science students performed a hands-on, physically distant, lab experiment outside of BMS. The students used tools such as beakers, graduated cylinders, and safety equipment to perform an experiment to measure how much air is in a sample of dry gravel. The students used water displacement to determine the volume of air in the sample. Then, they used mathematical skills to determine the percentage of gravel in the sample, given the percentage of air that they found.
